It is really a fusion of being absent minded, lazy, and indifferent.
So here's a quick breakdown
Second year, if you don't already know, is once of the toughest and most hectic years for medics in Liverpool. Not just because of the huge leap of insights and knowledge we have to attain and retain, but we have much less time for it. Increased amount of work, topped off with hospitals,GPs, and community attachments. Yet, I have realised, by the grace of God, I'm still quite relaxed and have not succumbed to the pressure and stress.
Quick flash on what's been going on lately:
1. Nottingham Malaysian Games 2011
Did not participate in any event but realised it was the cheapest way to meet up with everyone.
I'm glad I brought Andrew along so for once the many casual racism wasn't directed to me !
Some of the others I met up with
Oh yes, we met up with Robinhood
2. Lucy's/ex-homegroup Reunion Dinner
A very humiliating experience indeed! Highlight of the night? Sardines in the dark where Meg decided to trap me in the toilet.
So there I was fighting to hold on to the door with the little gap there was thinking there was someone on the other end holding it for a good 5 minutes before realising it was a sliding door and no one was on the other side. I almost kicked down the door.
Best part? I told Mr Josh Muir about it the next day in a text and one minute later Arosa texted me saying " I heard you were trapped in a toilet last night!" before realising that he had already told 6 other people in his hospital and they were all laughing at me.
I might as well mention it here as everyone knows about it by now
3. Emily's 21st
4. Clinical Conference
So much for the hype to a very boring 3 day long presentation.
Yes, I started my presentation with :
"I'm sorry in advance for the mispronunciation of certain words, as you all can see, unless I'm severely JAUNDICED, I'm obviously not English. " and carried on with my presentation.
You were all thinking it, I just said it!
5. Lucy's 21st!
Fancy dress theme? Something that begins with the letter L.
Needless to say I was laughed and honked at walking down Smithdown.
Where I decided to brave Sara Ramirez' Rendition of "The Story"
Outcome? It didn't matter that i messed up bacause no one knew the song!
Thank you Amina & Dan for coming!
