CU Houseparty/ Weekend Away

Let me start by saying...
I DID NOT PRAY FOR SNOW. I noticed there's a rumor going on in church that I was.
I am not to be blamed for the snow.

Life as a first year medic is not easy. It is hard work.
If you think A Levels was hard, try Medicine MbChb.
And so, I needed a weekend away.

The Christian Union(CU) organizes a houseparty/weekend away every year.
Houseparty is just a term used to describe something like "CF Camp", it's not actually a party.
I decided to go for it.
26-28 November 2010.
It was in Cafn Lea Park, Mid Wales.
All I can say is, no regrets!

We departed Uni about 6.30 and headed for Wales.
It was a 2 hour trip and we reached at night.
We had a short service that night and then headed for the Mountain Snow Climb.
Lets just say it was a slippery journey up the mountain.
Many people slipped and fell. I was extremely careful
considering the fact that I am quite clumsy ( at times!)
I was proud of myself that I did not fall although I was given a bruise by the person who fell in front of and into me. ( And still I did not fall!!)
Let me also point out that I realised how Unfit I was, feeling signs of tiredness and breathlessness climbing up.
It must be all those late night eating and not exercising, which also contributed to my weight gain of 7kg. Moving On!

We had a few talks on Heaven and Hell throughout the 2 days while we were there.
Although I personally did not agree with a few things, I still gained from it.
During the free time, we decided to go sledging with ... BIN BAGS. Epic.
Oh, if you don't already know, Wales was covered in snow!

We also had a talent show on Saturday night. It was actually enjoyable I can say.
Oh ya, and the hall meeting turned into a dance floor after that?
It was freezing in Wales. We didn't realise how cold it was till we got back.
According to the girls, there was ice on the inside of a closed window in a small room shared by 4 with heater. Imagine.
I honestly did not feel that cold during the nights, all I needed was one Duvet.
On our 2nd night, it was actually -18 degree Celsius where we were.
According to the news, that night, Wales had the coldest temperature recorded in Brittain in the month of November in about 89 years. And we were just 10 miles away from that area.
